Trying to update Regular Labs extension with Joomla 4 and got an error

Patrick Gaulin's Avatar Patrick Gaulin
Hi,

I have updated from Joomla 3 to the last Joomla 4, and I try to update Regular Labs extensions. But I've got this error:

An error has occurred.
0 PlgSystemTabsInstallerScriptHelper::preflight(): Argument #2 ($adapter) must be of type JAdapterInstance, Joomla\CMS\Installer\Adapter\PluginAdapter given

I'm also unable to uninstall them. Same problem for all Regular extensions. Any idea what can be c=the cause and the solution?

Many thanks,

Did you update them before upgrading to J4?

No. I just disable them. I didn't want to lose my setup. I understand that I made a mistake.

I put a lot of time to update Joomla and I try to be able to resolve this without the need to restart my update from beginning. How should I proceed to uninstall them now?

Many Thanks,

Try deleting these folders:
/media/tabs
plugins/editors-xtd/tabs
plugins/system/tabs
Then check if Tabs is still in the Extensions > Manage page. If so, try uninstalling it there.

Thank you for your support.

I choose to restart from the beginning my update process to do it right.

Before updating from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4, I have uninstalled all regular Labs extension.

After the update to Joomla 4, I have installed your extension Manager to install what I need.

Everything worked fine except for Advanced module manager. I have this error:

Can you help me to resolve this?

Have a great day 🙂

Again, not the steps that should be taken with an upgrade.
See: docs4.regularlabs.com/extensionmanager/g...m-joomla3-to-joomla4
(Each extension also has an upgrade guide in the docs)

If I uninstalled all extensions, Is it supposed to be a new clean install?

Actually, there is no AMM on my website. Is there another way to correct AMM without the need to restart again from scratch?

If you don't care about earlier made module assignments via Advanced Module Manager, then delete the _advancedmodules database table.

I have deleted the table. It took me 10 minutes to rebuild the module conditions sets. I'm very happy and I will be careful next time.

Thank you very much and have good time during the Holidays.
