Problems with the update of the «ReReplacer» plugin

Paul Nauer's Avatar Paul Nauer
Hi Peter,
Today I updated the «ReReplacer» plugin. The installation now blocks various modules, causing the website to produce many error pages. We use Joomla 4.2.9. Can you help me?

What kind of errors?

Try deleting these folders:
/plugins/system/regularlabs
/libraries/regularlabs
(You will get other errors now).

Then reinstall the latest version of ReReplacer.

This folder does not exist on the FTP.
I reinstalled ReReplacer with the version: rereplacer-v12.6.7-pro. The problem is the same as before.

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?

Can I send the sensitive data by email? I don't want to publish them here!

The data will only be visible for me and will automatically be removed after a month.

I do not want to post any sensitive data here on the forum! The version replacer-v12.6.6-pro runs fine. Because the update has a bug, I'm waiting for you to fix the bug.

You can send the details to the email address mentioned on:

The issue is caused by your own replacements.

In previous versions of ReReplacer, there was a bug that replacements with just 1 or 2 characters in the search would not work at all.
That is fixed.

You have amongst others a ReReplacer item replacing a quote with a '«'. Quotes are used for all sorts of things in HTML. So that will mess up the HTML output.

In other words: don't replace stuff you shouldn't with ReReplacer.
And make the replacement smarter if you want to target single characters. Like using Regular Expressions and/or limiting the replacement to only do things where it cannot create issues.

Hi Peter,
thank you very much for your valuable work. I deleted the faulty replacements and started the update. Everything is working fine. Thank you very much for the quick processing!
