Content Templater

Allow a template to OVERRIDE the text in the Content area of an article

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a way to override (remove what is already there) in the content area of an article, by using a template.

Ideally, I want to be able to create a template, that also removes and replaces text in the content area of an article.

The overrides seem to work for everything else but the only spot it doesn't override is the CONTENT area.

Please help. Thank you.

No, that isn't possible with Content Templater.
It will insert the template where the cursor is positioned.

Is that option something that is planned for a future update perhaps? It is something that would be useful when updating articles regularily and we need to reset back to an earlier configuration.

It would be useful. However, not all editors offer the necessary functionality to replace the entire content, JCE being one of them.

So until that gets sorted, this is still a dead end.

Please try the latest development version from:

This will not yet work if you use JCE. But it will with the next release of JCE:

Hi Peter, Thank you for this. However, I have installed the PRO dev version and I do not see the Override option from your screen shot. Am I missing anything?

I am currently trying with Editor-NONE.

Well, it is a well known fact that if you forget to push changes to a new version, that the changes will not be there!

Sorry about this 🙂
Should be working now in the new dev version:
